At RealSwipe ("RealSwipe", "we", "us", or "our"), your safety is our highest priority. We are committed to creating and maintaining a secure, respectful, and inclusive platform. These Safety Tips and Best Practices ("Safety Guidelines") provide guidance to users for protecting themselves and others while using the Service. These Guidelines supplement our Community Guidelines, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy.

  • Avoid sharing images that contain identifying information such as ID cards, financial documents, or home landmarks.
  • Never send money or provide financial information to individuals met online.

2. Communicate Safely Online

  • Use in-app messaging until you feel comfortable moving to another platform.
  • Be wary of individuals who attempt to escalate conversations too quickly or request to move chats off-platform.
  • Avoid individuals who lure or entice with lucrative offers, such as quick investment tips, high-paying gigs, or expensive gifts for little engagement. These are often scams.

3. Recognize and Report Suspicious Behavior

  • Requests for money or gifts;
  • Threats, blackmail, or harassment;
  • Hate speech, discriminatory comments, or violence;
  • Fraudulent accounts or impersonation;
  • Unsolicited explicit content;
  • Any actions that feel disproportionate or unwarranted given the conversation context;
  • Any signs of compulsive or addictive behavior linked to this app or website. If you or someone you know is experiencing such patterns, seek professional help.

4. Video or Voice Chat Prior to Meeting

  • Schedule a video or voice call to help verify a user's identity and intentions.
  • Consider this step as a prerequisite to meeting in person.
  • Video and/or voice calls can be recorded, so exercise caution and maintain privacy.

5. Safety When Meeting In-Person

  • Always meet in public, well-lit places;
  • Inform a trusted friend or family member of your plans, including who you are meeting and where;
  • Use your own transportation;
  • Keep personal belongings, food, and beverages secure at all times;
  • Never eat or drink anything offered unless you're fully comfortable and sure of the person.

6. Responsible Consumption of Alcohol or Substances

  • Remain in control of your consumption;
  • Never leave your drink unattended;
  • If you begin to feel unwell or unsafe, exit the situation immediately;
  • Always avoid free drinks from strangers unless completely trustworthy;
  • Follow all alcohol-related rules set by the event venue or local authorities.

7. Trust Your Instincts

  • If something doesn't feel right, you have the right to end the conversation or leave the situation;
  • You are not obligated to engage further once you feel uncomfortable;
  • You must follow the rules set by event organizers or venue owners. RealSwipe is not responsible for in-person event conduct but encourages safe participation.

8. Sexual Consent and Boundaries

  • Consent must be voluntary, clear, ongoing, and may be revoked at any time;
  • Silence or lack of resistance does not equal consent;
  • Any form of coercion, pressure, or manipulation violates our platform policies and may have legal consequences.

  • In the event of harassment, assault, or exploitation:
  • Report it immediately to RealSwipe and, if necessary, local law enforcement;

10. Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) Policy

10.1 Prohibited Conduct

  • Users must not:
  • Post, share, request, or transmit any sexually exploitative content involving minors (under the age of 18);
  • Attempt to communicate with or solicit sexual content from individuals believed or known to be minors;
  • Impersonate minors or misrepresent age in any form.

10.2 Reporting Obligations

  • We are committed to identifying and removing CSAE content and reporting it to appropriate authorities, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) or eSafety Commissioner, in compliance with local and international laws such as:
  • The Crimes Act 1914 (Cth);
  • The Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth);
  • Applicable international child protection frameworks.

10.3 Collaboration with Authorities

We will fully cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies. All credible reports will be investigated and escalated as necessary.

11. RealSwipe's Role and Limitations

  • RealSwipe does not conduct criminal background checks and cannot verify the intentions of every user.
  • We provide reporting tools, moderation systems, and community education but ultimately rely on users to act responsibly.

12. Updates to These Guidelines

  • These Guidelines may be revised periodically.
  • Continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of the current version.

13. Digital Wellbeing and Disclaimer

  • While RealSwipe aims to foster meaningful and positive connections, we acknowledge that excessive or compulsive use of digital platforms can impact mental health and overall wellbeing.
  • RealSwipe is not responsible for any form of digital addiction, compulsive usage, or time mismanagement resulting from engagement with the platform.
  • If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty in controlling app usage or shows signs of digital addiction, we strongly recommend seeking guidance from a mental health professional or support service.
  • RealSwipe encourages users to take breaks, practice moderation, and prioritise real-world balance while using the Service.
